Photographers Shot 10,000 Pictures At Siti-Datuk K Wedding

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 (Bernama) — About 10,000 pictures were snapped by photographers engaged by the organiser for the grand wedding of pop princess Siti Nurhaliza and Datuk Khalid Mohamad Jiwa in Kuala Lumpur last month.

Six photographers from White Studio and Adan as well two lensmen from the media shot between 5,000 and 10,000 pictures at the wedding dubbed “Wedding of the Decade” at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Aug 28, said lensman Bustamam Mohktar of White Studio.

During the marriage solemnisation at the Federal Territory Mosque on Aug 21, he said, five photographers shot more that 3,000 pictures while four photographers took more than 3,000 pictures at the second wedding ceremony held at Lipis Square on Sept 3.

Bustamam said White Studio was elated when it was informed by Siti’s sister-in-law Rosie that Siti Nurhaliza Production wanted to engage the studio to take pictures at her marriage solemnisation and wedding ceremonies.

“I immediately sought Siti’s confirmation and accepted the offer right away although I wasn’t familiar with wedding photography.

“I asked Adan’s operation manager Hasnuddin Abu Samah for help and he agreed,” he told Bernama.

They mapped out their work flow and prepared a working paper on the number of photographers needed, time frame, number of pictures and type of albums required.

To Bustamam, the toughest challenge was taking pictures of the wedding at the KL Convention Centre where royalty and dignitaries were among the 6,000 guests.

“It was a great challenge for it was difficult to get the couple to pose for photographers. Anyway, we were fortunate to get their pictures together after the khatam Al-Quran at Siti’s residence,” he said.

A CD duplicator was used to duplicate pictures in compact discs for 40 photographers who could not get into the centre, he said, adding that he also provided 900 edited pictures of the three ceremonies to Siti Nurhaliza.

For Bustamam, the wedding photography gave him a new dimension to his credentials which were previously confined to magazine and album cover pictures.

His recent work was the cover of Siti Nurhaliza’s album entitled “Transkripsi” which contains the hit song “Biarlah Rahsia” (Let It Be A Secret).

Hasnuddin said the experience was the grandest wedding that his team had ever worked on.
